Guardians¡¯ Recognition and Satisfaction Rate of Conscious Sedation Method in Pediatric Dental Treatment

Abstract
Purpose: The aim of this study was to recognize guardian¡¯s awareness and satisfaction on conscious sedation method.
Methods: A total of 100 guardians of pediatric patients who have received the dental treatment, using conscious sedation Participated in this study. The data were analyzed using ¥ö2-test and liner regression.

Results: The effect of reducing the fear of children became the motivation of guardians in choosing conscious sedation for the dental treatment of pediatric patients. Guardian¡¯s satisfaction appeared significant difference when they thought that conscious sedation would be safe.

Conclusion: it is judged that the treatment should focus on the reduction of children¡¯s fear and anxiety in choosing the patients to whom conscious sedation is applied. In addition, it is important to establish the correct recognition through giving the right information in terms of safety of conscious sedation.
